TO ANYONE HAVING THIS ISSUE:
These laptops have a funky charge controller, if the battery gets fully drained the battery will not charge when you plug it in. You will know this is the case when you plug in the charger and the orange light comes on for two seconds then goes out permanently.
You can remedy this condition by doing the following:
# PLUG IN THE CHARGE CABLE
# WAIT FOR ORANGE LED TO ILLUMINATE AND THEN GO OUT
# UNPLUG CHARGE CABLE
# REPEAT STEPS 1-3 UNTIL ORANGE LED STAYS ILLUMINATED WHEN CABLE IS PLUGGED IN
This will take time, usually around 100 cycles, but it will work. if your laptop has multiple USBC charge ports cycle between them. For the period of time that the orange light is on, the battery is receiving charge, so you just need to do this enough times that the controller sees the battery again. I went through warranty repairs with Lenovo only to have this happen again before finding this solution myself, be patient, it will work.
