In looking at this again, I’m now thinking the logic board and/or the headphone jack it’s self got wet. Reference this guide [https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/MacBook+Pro+16-Inch+2021+Headphone+Jack+Replacement/150897]

As far an Audio and Video chips there are none! The M1 SoC has these functions internally. Take a look at the section "All the Apple chips you can eat" from the iFixit teardown here [link|https://www.ifixit.com/News/54122/macbook-pro-2021-teardown|2021 MacBook Pro Teardown: A Glimpse at a Better Timeline].
What happens when you connect an external display to the system and using an external keyboard/mouse with the lid closed (ClamshellMode) if that works then its likely your displays T-CON got wet damaging it.

Sadly, the T-CON logic board is part of the display assembly and not repairable on its own. You'll need a new display assembly if the issue is within it (likely from your description) [guide|150902]. Apple now offers parts directly visit the store here [https://support.apple.com/self-service-repair|Self Service Repair]to locate the needed part. its not that difficult to do and you will need access to the Calibration tool they provide (paywalled)
