I recently got the out of ink error for the magenta cartridge. Replaced it with an Office Max cartridge and got the "There is a problem with the printer or ink system" error. Put back the old magenta cartrige (also Office Max) and got only the out of ink message, not the problem message. I just bought more Office Max cartrdiges, and the new magenta cartridge still give me the problem message. I'll keep banging on it
