I had the same problem, shutter firing as soon as I advanced the film.
I cleaned the magnet and coil ends that contact the magnet with isopropyl alcohol on a q tip
Then the magnet would stick but not release no matter what I done. I was stumped for a few days checking components and reading online but couldn't get an answer
Ultimately it was a very simple solution. Spray wd40 or light oil on a q tip and rub the areas that were cleaned with isopropyl alcohol. Worked immediately.
If it doesn't work for anybody reading this, check that the coil measures 90 ohms approx of resistance with a multimeter. If there's no resistance then you have an open coil which means find the break or replace the magnet/coil
It's a great little camera and I'm delighted to have mine working again
