If I'll buy a PS3 super slim here in italy (220V), will it work abroad if I'll bring it wher the power is 110V?
Please confirm me definitely :)
Calling sony support center they told me it will not work...but I'll be not surprised if they are wrong and technically not fully aware of the techincal datas.

gianluca, yes it will work on 110V/220V. It does have a dual voltage power supply and will not give you any trouble. "Just like the PS3 Slim, the power supply on the new system takes international inputs ranging from 100 to 240V. The power supply itself is a little more energy efficient than the Slim system that preceded it as well, rated at 12 V, 18 A DC rather than 12 V, 13 A DC." Check on here Hope this helps, good luck.

Thank you. I had the same problem. after reading the above I plugged my new ps3 (cech-4001b) in to 220v and it works perfect.

I bought a CECH-4001b 250GB Super Slim PS3 from the United States (110V) and connected it to a wall socket in India (220V) - it worked fine without overheating etc. No step-down converter used.
Appears as if the power specs on the device itself isn't the entire picture.

everithings fine with US(120V) 4001B PS3 version in Russia (220V) without any down adapters (plugged directly to outlet)

@Wangui Wagacha, yes same answer. No, you will not need anything other than a power cord that fits your electrical outlet. The PSU is the same, regardless of where you purchase the PS3.
