Why wont my iPod turn on?

Awhile ago I replaced my girlfriends cracked iPod screen. It worked great, other than the fact that the lcd looked wavy when you put alot of pressure on it, but that is just because it was a Chinese remake I found on amazon. Anyways, the glass wasn't as good as the original glass, as it was flimsy. She ended up cracking the replacement when putting her otterbox back on the iPod. After that, the battery said it died, and then it wouldnt charge. Now it wont charge, and the charging symbol wont even show up. It shows no signs of power at all. Any ideas?
