iPhone 4 display assembly to diagnosis iPhone 3G screen failure

Hi all,

I have that iphone 3G i wan't to repair, i suspect dock connector / battery / display assembly.

I already tried it with a spare battery. Not conclusive.

Now, i'd like to know if i could plug an iphone 4 display assembly on my iphone 3G just to exonerate the original display, so i could deduce it actually is the dock connector.
