The batteries seem to be replacable. See the teardown (16GB model) here.
You can use this repair link to edge your way to the batteries.
Replacement batteries seem to be rare out there. However, I found a replacement battery here. You might want to check with the seller first. The offer did not specifically say "101".

i have replaced my batteries on the archos 101g9 but when i put it back the battery is charged but not touch screen dont work can anyone help me ?? a.rconsoles@yahoo.co.uk
