Replaced loudspeaker and still sounds blown

Hello I did a screen replacement and the the process I ripped off completely the loudspeaker. I soldered a new one in just on the front side with the red wire close to the speaker and the black away from the speaker. Once I did that I put it all together and turned it on and it sounded blown so I open everything back up and did it again and install another new speaker and put everything back together and turned it back on and still sounded blown. Is there something that I'm doing wrong or do I need to do something different or reset any setting. Can somebody please help me

Hey Steffen. Yes I just did a reset and it still sound bad. Is there anything else I can do

Thanks for your update.

Just for clarification: You mentioned that you soldered in a new speaker on the front side. Does this mean that you soldered those wires on top of the logic board?

Usually, the wires are soldered on from below. See this guide, step 11. I am wondering if one of the solder joints (or even both?) has contact with the metal plate that covers the logic board. I would therefore check on that and would use some tape that covers those two joints (and wires) so that there is no way that they can have contact to the metal plate.

Hello Steffen. Yes I soldered from the top of the logic board. I looked it up and somewhere online said its the same cause it has the solder points on top too. I'm check out what you said about maybe the metal plate could be hitting the solder point and too put a small piece of tape over them to protect it and ill let you know how it works out. Thank you very much for your help so far.

Hi Anthony,

I did some research and it seems that the issue might be related to a defective speaker IC. The good news is that this IC is replaceable. See this link to the discussion.

Here are the details:

The IC is a 2W audio amplifier (and based on the discussion mentioned also used in the iPhone 4s) and made by Texas Instruments. It seems to be located to the right of the speaker unit. Can you locate it on your logic board?

Its exact label is TPA2051D1. You can get it via mouser.com for under $3. See here.

The kind of bad news is that you might need to have the right tools to replace it. It is soldered on in BGA technology. For more information see here.
