Help! NO SIM CARD / BAD ESN / Can I unlock?

Hello! I do need help on a SPRINT / iPhone 5 / 16gb / Black. Able to fully replace the front screen and did a restore on the item. But now the iPhone states there is no SIM CARD and to retry. It appears there is no SIM CARD inside. Can I purchase a third party one? I cannot get access to the home screen. I would like to use this as an itouch, perhaps even an international iphone. It does have a bad esn. Is it possible to get it unlocked? Please help me! I do now know what further steps to take. I'm stuck! Thank you!

unlocked as in for a different carrier? with a bad ESN, most likely not.

@oldturkey03, well I saw there are services to clear the BAD ESN and make is clean.

You will need a sim card to finish the activation process. I keep a little baggy of old ones with no service on them for that exact purpose. See if you can find one or take it to the carrier its for store and maybe they can put an inactive one in it just to complete the activation and get it working. then take it back out.

@gizmo4sal3 Thanks for the help! does it matter if I use a Verizon SIM card? Since this is a SPRINT phone?

Also, how would I proceed with making making this iPhone an actual phone and on a carrier? Possible make it phone where I can use in other countries.

You can get 3rd party Sims/microSims that could potentially work. If you want to use it as an Itouch you can probably get any old sim that will fit and put it in. With Sprint though usually it says you're connected to Sprints network even without a SIM, atleast it did with my 4s that was locked to Sprint. But I couldn't for the life of me unlock it from Sprint. Supposedly there was a way awhile back for jailbroken Iphones but it got patched. I'm not 100% sure about Iphone 5. I suggest googling if no one hear can help.

Thanks for the help and advise. I will try sticking my verizon SIM in there to see if it at least get to the home screen. I contacted this service and they claim they can do it. What do you think? www.cleanyouresn.com
