Why won't the flash Work after the screen replacement

I just replaced the screen for the iPhone 4s and put it back together. Everything worked great, but the Camera flash. The camera worked also. I was wondering if this is fixable or if I forgot to put something back in while putting it back together.

There is a gold grounding clip that goes behind the top of the camera. When you disassembled the phone, you had to peel off that black tape and remove a screw that holds it in. Make sure that you put it back in.

I forgot to put that back in, but I lost it and already ordered a new camera. Will the little piece come with it?

Hi everybody. To day I had thesame problem. What was wrong? There is a gold plate whos touching the camera from back side. This must be monted just under the screau, I put under the motherboard and was NOT working. I change place like i say + there are 2 plates on the right and left side of the connection tape of the camera. They must touch mainbord alsow. My camera is back OK. Hope i help.

My iphone suffered water damage - %#*@ the beer!

So I stripped it down and cleaned the motherboard with Methylated Spirits (de-natured alcohol) paying particular attention to the area where the camera and flash attached and the sim card contacts because both the flash was permanently switched on and the sim card wasn't recognized anymore. This fixed the phone! Or so I thought!

I noticed that the front camera wasn't working so I tried opening the phone to check the front camera plug had properly seated on the boards corresponding socket. This didn't fix the front camera.

HOWEVER I found [several days later] the rear camera grounding clip loose on the floor of my bedroom and thought "that'll fix it hooray". It turns out that when I re-fitted the rear camera grounding clip and re-assembled the phone; the flash wouldn't turn on leading me to believe that having already used the rear camera and attempting to switch to the front camera (which requires a lower voltage jumper to start it ) - that I had subsequently broken the jumper for the front camera because the rear camera wasn't grounded when I first tried to switch from the rear camera to the front camera. SO I removed the rear camera grounding clip and what do you know - the flash works again! I hope this helps
