Spilled water on my mac's keyboard and inside the DVD drive?

I spilled water on my brand new mac!

It was on when it happened and the dvd player turned on sucking water inside the computer.

After pulling the back case off. It has some blue spots I guess from corrosion, but when I plug in the charger it gives a faint green light, if I leave it plugged in it will turn bright green eventually. But it never turns on. I tried cleaning the blue spots with 70% IPA but there are still some dark rusty looking spots, and I haven't taken anything out, yet. Apple says they can fix it but $755 seems a bit much for a little water.

Boy, if we could all determine that repairs cost it could be a cheaper, wouldn't it' be a wonderful world? Depending on what is damaged and how it is repaired it takes a lot of labor - that's someones labor time that has to be paid.

You can do it for less if you can do it yourself - after all that's why we're here.

You've made a good start. . . follow the tags at right for more things you can do/try to get your laptop up and running for litter more that your time, or a few parts.

Dont for get there could be damage on the other side of the board than where you're looking. Also use a magnifying glass to look for burned (shorted) compontents.
