No backlight after light water- all else seems to work
Only briefly wet in fresh water, dried in rice for days and now appears to have everything working (including touch functions) but screen stays black. I disassembled and cleaned all contacts. Saw no corrosion. I can answer calls by swiping screen and can access all files via USB to computer link. Incoming Email and text notification alarms continue. Battery will recharge. Anything else to try other than new digitizer?

Thanks for quick and helpful reply. Much appreciated. Angled light does not reveal any outlines. I did use 91% isopropyl alcohol and new clean soft bristle tooth brush but did not completely disassemble-- i did remove logic/mother board and focused on all its contacts. I will redo with complete dis-assembly. If still fails, any recommendation on display assembly source/quality? Thanks again.

Update: disassembly and reclean did not work. I noted that of the 4 moisture indicators on the unit only one (near flash/assist light) had any indication of discoloration. I checked ebay and found several LCD/digitizer assemblies for sale. Unless other suggestions, i will start bidding or just buy a one of those ($150-$200). Anyone know if it possible to test by just connecting another Note 2 LCD pin connector to my mother board (without moving other components)?

Update2: Impressive Mr Turkey. Now i need to find a meter with small enough probes. Maybe i can tape pins to my basic home owner unit. I assume back cover off, power on operation is possible...?? Checking your graciously provided schematics, i couldn't find L706, L705 or PMIC U500. Do i need better glasses or ? In any case, i cant solder something that small but, if voltage tests all positive it does confirm need for LCD. Thanks. Your assist again appreciated. Thumbs up

Im having the same problem...
Everything works... and angled light shows everything...
That means the backlight is not working...
Repair shop asked 5000 rupees to change the whole display...
I wish there was a way to fix the backlight...
