What part(s) do I need to replace?

I plugged in a 3.5mm cable into my iPod that is used for powering a separate device and now my iPod won't turn on. It doesn't respond to plugging it into the wall or the computer either. I'm not sure what has broken and I'm looking for advice on what part to replace.

I'm guessing the power from the 3.5mm line ran into the headphone jack and overloaded something but I'm not sure what it broke and was hoping someone would have an idea on what the problem is.

Thanks

Javier, if it did receiver power through the head phone jack, anything could have taken a hit. I recommend that you disassemble your iPod using this guide, and take a look at the logic board. Check for any obvious damage, like burned components. Pay close attention to the audio IC, located front lower right on the logic board as well as as the power management IC. It is possible that you may have to replace the complete logic board.

Hope this helps, good luck.
