Can I update a1211 board to a 1226 board
wondering a1226 logic board would fit to a1211.

I think not. Swaps between model years are not problematic but there are often changes from year to year. I'd seek a guarantee from the vendor if they say it will swap, so that if they don't you aren't responsible for restock or return/exchange fees.
