Hi, i have a 2010 camaro with 42,000 miles on it. Bought it used as is. Ran great all year and now since the cold weather have had 3 engine misfire codes, all in #2 cylinder. Have had the coil on plug replaced and have gone through 3 spark plugs. Getting a bit worried there may be a bigger issue here. Just thought i would share. Thanks

Have a 2000 Ford Ranger and it keeps fouling out the plugs. Have changed plugs and wires every 5 to 6 months to have it happen again?

Usually its oil fouling. You may have a problem with a head gasket or possibly a valve guide. You should have a compression check run to see if you have a problem with that cylinder. A inexpensive temporary cure would be to install a oil fouling plug in that cylinder. Ralph

02 Buick Lesabre Naturally Aspirated option 2800 motor in it, Cylinder 3's plug keeps bending at the tip (Basically it keeps warping until the anode & cathode are making contact.) Has E3 plugs on it now, not even a month old. I used autolite's before that, and they only lasted 2 1/2 weeks. No signs of oil, coolant, or bad fuel mixture on the plug or cylinder. Compression is about 175 psi cold, and 190 psi hot. I've replaced all the coils, sensors, modules, and wiring (Including plug wires) But no plug will last more than 1 month in the car before bending till the tips touch. There's nothing inside the cylinder that could push it on the upward strokes. IDK what else I can check. The only bad part is the plugs, nothing else is wrong on it! PLEASE HELP!!!

You could install a hotter plug in that cylinder.

What kind of vehicle? What brand of plugs? Did you change the plugs along with the wires? What kind of wires are you using?

Thanks

Frank

Make sure you check the spacing on your plugs in addition to checking to make sure they're not covered in oil or dirty in general. This rule goes for even the plugs that are pre-measured spacing. Other then that check your distributer cap and also spark plug wires if you keep having spark problems (also depending on your vehicle that type of spark plug wires can cause issues if they're not using tolerances that are equal to OEM).

Excess fuel dripping in from petcock to carburator to cylinder . If your oil smells like gas. This will be your problem. Typical gas tank too high issue. Leans out your oil to cause worse damage.

Had this issue many of times with hondas . The grommets prob need replaced. Comes with the valve cover gasket kit. Oil in the valve area seeps through the grommets and onto the plugs. When u pull the plugs do they have oil on them around the ceramic area?

My 2009 Honda Accord V6 keeps doing this. My husband said the spark plugs had on them

April Richardson .. I have. V6 2010 Honda Accord and it keeps happening with me. Even after I’ve replaced all the spark plugs. What did y’all do & what do you recommend?

tarafından

Check the spark plug wires and also the distributor cap. Honda’s tend to be problematic if you “upgrade” the spark plug wires and they don’t match OEM specs they can cause misfire or errors with the computer.
