This might have worked, but my old phone is a Galaxy S2. The software doesn't go back that far. :(

how will this work tho? I have broken my charging port so cant even connect it with a laptop. how can i recover my pictures?

galaxy core prime? What is the Android version of your device? If the texts was lost long before, it may be difficult to recover since the data would be overwritten. If it is not covered by other data, you can refer to some guides to recover the deleted texts and I have searched one tip from Google.

Besides, if you have received mms, you may try this way to fix also but don't forget that you should stop to use the device until the data is retrieved.

You can recover data from dead Android phone, the Broken Android Data Recovery can help you extract data from the damaged phone, like cracked screen, water-damaged, black screen even from the bricked mobile phone.

If you Nexus phone not damaged, you can directly Recover Deleted Data from Nexus 5

The motherboard it doesn't work, if you have the habit of backup, you can recover data from backup directly, but only can recover the latest backup data. Or you should try Eelphone Android Data Recovery . There has three ways to recover Android data, you should try the third one to retrieve your Android pictures .

Only thing you could try and do is plug the phone to a computer with a USB Cable and see if anything pops up in the DCIM folder or other folders. That might work. If not then i'm sorry there's no other option,it's dead!

If the data was not over written by new data, then you may still have a chance to recover your data from Android phone, Mobiledic Android data recover could do it, see this guide: recover data from internal memory

If the data has been covered by new data, then nobody or no software could save them, they will be gone forever.

I'm sorry to hear that bud, there's no other options then. There's no way around it. Next time try and back-up all your important info on a cloud or computer.

It is possible to recover data (pictures, videos, contacts, notes, etc.) from DEAD devices, whether they are iPhones (iOS devices in general) or Samsung phones (Android phones in general, such as Sony, LG, HTC, Motorola, etc.).

You have to take or send your dead device to people who specialize in data recovery from hand held devices. I am not talking about big/reputed data recovery companies as those are mostly specialized in recovery from failed drives, not from hand-held devices. It's a completely different science.

Also don't take them to people who do general repair or even microsoldering repair but are not experienced in data recovery. In this case the science is the same, but the approach for data is completely different in order to preserve and recover data.

We've had iPhones come to us after going to 1-2 and a few times to 3-4 different repair techs and all failed to recover data, and pronounced the devices dead and unrecoverable; and we could do it under an hour. A couple of times we even gave back working devices. So choose wisely who you should trust your device with specially when it comes to data.

Do people have a problem understanding the term 'DEAD' ?

you can connect it to the computer all day but it wont connect because it is dead.

no recovery software is gonna fix it.....

Is there a way of connecting to the S2 memory even though it is dead?

Yes, but it will be complex. There are videos online showing how experts can physically remove the motherboard, clean it, and insert it into a special device. All of your information will be there. However it isn’t free, so decide if you really need it (its not too expensive though).

Can phone memos be retrieved as well when recovering data from the memory board? Also what about pictures/videos /audios that were moved on a SD card but then it was fully formatted and so the only option is through the phone. Can they be retrieved off of the phone even though they were moved to a different device?
