1 Logical board and 3G gsm modem surface-mounted ribbon cables
Dear Everybody and Ifixit!
Please help me!
I have an ipad 2 gsm. I had to change the screen and digitizer. In some reasons i hurt the surface mounted ribbon cable between the modem and the logical board. Right now i can't make a restore, because the itunes can't install the firmware to the modem.
Please help me fix it! If this is not possible have any possibility to skip the modem? I don't care the 3g if the ipad will be work!

Laspik78, to solve this issue you should simply solder back the damaged flat cable.
It is not a difficult job for someone with the right tools, skills, and experience.
On the other hand, it can be pretty messy and hard if the above prerequisites are not met.
If you want to send it out, choose someone with a proven track record otherwise things can go wrong and you end up with a brick.
If you should need help choosing someone, let me know, I could be able to recommend someone depending on your location (country, state).

Just use double sided conductive tape after cleaning off the old be very careful not to damage the tabs press down hard and maybe clamp itbfor a bit, no need to solder it that's a cowboy way

The ipads that have 3g have an extra section attached to the logic board by a glued on wire. I bought this at a tag sale. Someone was apparently trying to repair their iPad and they did not know that when you removed that glued strip attaching the 3g antenna to the logic board you would never be able to re-atach it again later. So basicaly my 3g logic board is now in two pieces. the main logic board with wifi and the cdma 3g antenna. Now their is no differnce between the logic boards in either wifi only or wifi and 3g devices. I attempted to restore the device with the ios for wifi only, because there are 3 different ios versions depending on if you have wifi only wifi 3g with SIM card, or wifi 3g cdma.
