Hit MBP started making sound, now it's very slow

Hello,

So I for some reason hit my mac, not very hard, just right to the trackpad. It started making this weird noise, so I hit it soft, which made the sound go away.

At the time I hit the mac, it was still running. I was afraid it was the harddisk, so I tried open some files, which it did fine. Then I swifted program to watch a movie, an app that had been opened for long time, then my MBP totally froze.

When I started it up again, it took forever to get to the log-in screen. But I was able to log-in. When I log-in everything was so slow. Opened the command window by CMD+Alt+Esc, and it constatly said apps were not responding. Decided to shut my MBP down then. Haven't used it since.

You know what could be the cause for this and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

Can boot it up in safe-mode. Disk Utility didn't find anything wrong with my HD.

See if it will boot from your system installation DVD. Try to run Disk Utilities. Replace the hard drive data cable.

Only had a Lion disk (I'm running Mountain Lion, don't know if that can cause any problem?), but it started up after like 4 or 5 minutes.

I runned disk Utility, but it said it was okay when I cliked verify disk.

Clicked verify disk permission, and it came with a lot. It all was something like "Permission differ on "Application/Itune...uld be drwcr-xr-x :they are -rw-r--r--."

I changed the hard drive cable just 3-4 months ago or something like that. Can it really be that again?

When in Safe Boot, when I copy some files it says "x files cannot be read or wrote. Errorcode - 36". Don't know if help find the cause of the problem.

I just replaced the hard drive data cable, but it didn't change anything.

Any other suggestions? Should I try formatting the hard drive on my MBP?
