Start up, clinking on upper right corner than gray screen ,blinking file with question mark

You Mac can not find a valid operating system. Try starting up from your installation DVD. Insert the disk and restart holding down the option key and select your DVD. See if you can run Disk Utilities on your hard drive. This series of Macs is also know to have bad hard drive cables so if you can't get anywhere, replace the cable.
