Proprietary means "secret" at least for a while.Even if you knew the vendor you probably couldn't purchase just one or two. OWC usually comes up with 3rd party drives for these new machines rather quickly… but not overnight.

Until someone gets a system with one in it from Apple and tells us, we just don't know. I've tried asking our Apple rep and she is unable to find out. Others have gone to the Apple Store to ask or even get them to show them the part so they could spy the chips though the antistatic bag. So far no one has a clue.
