Why Ipad 2 doesn't charge battery more than 7%?

So I have this Ipad,and it's not even 2 years yet and it barely was used, and suddenly one day when I tried to charge it, I left it charging for several hours but the battery didn't pass 7%...switched cables,none of them were bad,neither the ipad charger,and I also conected to my sony dock to charge it and it was still stuck...And on the same day the battery kept dropping to 5, and now 2 % and it doesn't pass that,tried factory resetting but nothing worked,what should I do ?

Hi Lucas,

Could it be a defective connector? does the IPAD indicate that it is getting power?

If it does not indicate getting power and just drops %chage, then if no warrenty left open the device and measure charge voltage on the battery and the charge connector pin in the device.

If connector issue, try with charger insertes to press in different directions to determine if connector is broken. Also inspect inside connector cavity - someting stuck or disconnecting? use magnifier or better.

Is it possible then to turn it on when power adapter is inserted? (even if it is discharged?)

Hi Carsten,

The Ipad does indicate it's getting power,unfortunately I let it run out of battery and now it doesn't turn on anymore,but when you put it to charge it says it's getting energy to charge but doesn't...

Hi Lucas,

I suspect the charge controller IC (chip) is refusing to charge the battery or that the battery protection circuit is faulty.

The only advice i can give then is to replace the battery pack (or via repair shop).

And just to be sure, you did the Reset procedure? if not try it with the charger inserted.

Reset:

• Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the

Home button at the same time for at least 10

seconds, until the Apple logo appears

Q: does it respond if connected to PC/Macbook via Itunes?
