Does anyone know of a splice kit compatible with the Magsafe 2?

Does anyone know what type/specification of coaxial cable is used from the transformer brick to the MagSafe 2 connector? I'd like to find a splice kit that would work rather than replacing the entire thing.

I wouldn't recommend spicing the cable as over time the splice will weaken and you could get a short.

It's best to replace the unit.

FYI - Apple still offers a replacement program for defective units. Bring in your system with the charger to an AppleStore I'm sure you can get a free unit.
