While doing some things it suddenly turned off. I thought the battery is off but the light for showing the state of battery was not blinking. When I connected it to charger it did nothing. Bad battery or what? The charger cant recognise the macbook.

Sounds like the battery is completely drained and needs to be replaced. What do you get when the magsafe adapter is plugged in? What are the last three digits of the serial number (located in fine print on the back).
