adeaga1239, rice is a good desiccant but it does not fix your phone, nor will it prevent corrosion. As with any phone, I strongly recommend that you clean it. Disassemble it by using these guides. Clean it properly using this guide. It was written for a 3G but all the points still apply to your phone as well. Once it is properly cleaned '''replace the battery" reassemble and re-evaluate. With a new battery and properly cleaned, you will have a good starting point should any further trouble shooting be necessary. Hope this helps, good luck.

Hay adeaga1239,

try to see if there is any corosion on the board and if so i suggest you take a anti static brush or used tooth brush...(-: and remove with caution.

hope you success,

since the emi shields are soldered onto the iphone 5 logic board, you really can't get at most of the board or even see it.

disassemble the phone and drop that board in some isopropyl alcohol 90%+ skip the useless rice and let it air dry.

reassemble with your new battery and post results.

remember to try a hard reset if your phone is hanging on the apple logo (power button plus home button 10 seconds together)
