Wont power on after hard drive install

My name is Joey and I recently changed the hard drive on my macbook pro. The only problem is that now my macbook wont power on. When connect it to the charger it shows that it still charges. Also when I push the button on the front left side the little green lights show the battery still has power. I followed the steps in the guide you guys provided. I installed a Western Digital 500 GB, 5400 rpm, SATA 3Gb/s, 8 Mb/Mo Cache, 2.5" hard drive. My only concern is that when I opened up the laptop, I used a compressed air can to blow of some the dust inside. When i did that the fan began to spin. The fan doesn't seem to be damaged as it wont budge from it equilibrium position. Please help me figure out what is going on. I'm thinking of changing the hard drive back to the old one in case it's the new hard drive or is there something else I should do when intalling a new hard drive? Is this normal? I appreciate your time and help with this. This laptop is extremely important to me, as I use it for school. Once again, thanks for your help.

Recheck all your connections. Often new DIYers think they have a full complete connection but on rechecking found s/one was not snapped in, or was not locked down in the case of ribbon connectors.

If you originally had one of the smaller drives you may have to put the old one back in and do an EFI update to run the larger drive.

If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it.

Greeting machead3,

I reinstalled the old hard drive and it still won't turn on. I checked all the connections and everything seems fine. I stull don't know what I could have done wrong. Thanks for your prompt response.

If neither the old or new works you may have damaged the cable or connector. Replacing the cable may solve your problem….
