How can I open Omega Washer DSC WD 9500 from the outside?

I have Just finished cycle and went to open door manually. Handle stuck in open position and door will not open.

I have had power off for 10 minutes and still will not open.

I have now opened the washing machine by feeding a string behind the lock mechanism and pulling both ends of the string towards the hinges and the door opened.
