Lcd screen has no power to it

Hi, I have a ipad 2. My son dropped it and cracked all the screen. I'm normally good at fixing things so I bought a replacement screen. Took it all apart and fixed the screen. When I put the glass back into place it would not fit properly as the metal sides were damaged. When I turned it back on to test it would work it and all worked fine apart from the on off button. I had to take the lcd back off so I could file the metal sides down, but because I could not turn the ipad off I just disconnected the lcd. Once I fixed the edges I put it all back together and the lcd had no life, when before it did. So I bought a new lcd thinking I had damaged it. Today I have fitted the new lcd and it still won't work. Can you please help me and advise what to do. Or will you be able to fix this for me?

then reconnect it. if the battery was not disconnected or the unit no powered down before repair this is the common outcome

as for the power button. if you examine the top right corner under the digitizer glass you will notice a thin flex cable leading to the power button. you have most likely damaged this gaining entry to the ipad. Also a very common mistake

Brill thanks, so if I disconnect the battery and the put it back it will work? Is the lead to power button easy to fix?

the power?volume mute switch is a pain in the.... but with te ifix it guide it is very doable. In most cases yes disconnecting the reconnecting the battery will cure the issue. If your power buttow was working i would recommend a hard reset. Both will accomplish the same. Good luck

The lcd is now working, thank you so much. The only thing now us when I unplugged the battery with the mother board I had to disconnect the little connector which had 4 tiny prongs on and I think this is the sound. I can not for the life of me get this to fit back on. It was hard to pull off and now the lcd is working the sound isn't. Is this to do with those prongs or to do with the power button and that strip being damaged? The bolometers button does move up and down and you can see it move on the music. Sorry for all the questions, I will not be fixing another ipad again
