iPhone Bootloop after repair

Just changed my screen and the iPhone is now stuck in a bootloop.

Apple logo appears, stays on for one minute, then slowly fades away and turns off.

While connecting to my Mac, it says the USB is drawing too much power.

It happens the same with the old parts, i've checked it.

Any clues?

Update: The iPhone works outside of the chassis, it is like this at the moment: http://cl.ly/WlkG But, when I put it on place in the frame, the problem keeps happening. It is definitely something shorting out with the frame, but haven't figured out yet what. Any ideas? At least the logic board isn't fryed! Thanks!

Hi Pedro,

When you see an error like that it's possible that something is shorting out. At this point in troubleshooting I would recommend taking the phone apart again and inspect the logic board for damage. I would also be curious to see if the power error continues if you connect the phone and remove the battery. Isolation is key to finding out what's wrong.

Let me know if you find anything.

Hi!

There is no apparent damage in the logic board. Also, i've tried it with two different batteries and it keeps on boot looping. It doesn't turn on with power but without battery.

Do you suggest to take off the metal protectors of the components of the logic board to check further? Or simply try to clean it better?

Thank you!

@Pedro look at the teardown of the phone on ifixit and check for any missing pads or adhesive guards that may be missing. Keep in mind that this can also happen if you tighten the screws down too tight.

Just for anyone with a similar problem.. I just had this fault after a full chassis change on an iPhone 5.. after stripping it all back down and carefully putting it back together and checking the boot function after each screw.. It turned out to be the very last connector I put back on the board.. The problem was caused by the Front facing Camera flex.. There was nothing visible, but phone boots and charges no problem now.. just waiting for a replacement.. :)
