after cleaning printheads printer doesn't work and emits a beep

Hi, I dissassembled my printer twice after cleaning the printheads as initially it didn't turn on afterwards. After swopping one of the tabs around I reassembled it and it turned on. It began to clean and after a minute or so the light went off and now it won't turn on and emits a quiet beeping. What have I done wrong? I found the replacing of the tabs very difficult to see in which direction they should be inserted. Could I have put one back the wrong way round?

I had this problem so I spoke with two experts. They said both your printhead and mainboard or out of work so they need to be changed and it costs a new printer. I sold my printer parts and bought a new one.

Hi I'm glad to contribute to this forum with the solution for the problem when you change the printhead or you flush the printhead all of the sun in the printer won't start won't turn on what I found was that the two transistors on the hissing of the logic board fail I still haven't figured out why does the printhead shorts these two transistors but once you replace the transistors the printer toner design and gives no problems. Well no problems but it still won't print because I still haven't replaced the printhead I am trying to figure out why is it that the printhead is shorting out on the board because if not it will not work and it will short the board it again I tried it twice and every time is short the transistors so I hope this help you at least you'll get to turn on the printer again still waiting to figure out how to fix the problem with the printhead I am going to try with a brand new printhead see if it does the same thing Dario Ortiz Oss..!!

It would be of great help if anybody can get me the schematics of this printer with the schematics I can probably figure out why are these problems happening but without schematic is a little bit harder I seen they call him either schematic or diagram so if anybody can get the schematics of the logic board and all the electronica parts of the printer I will appreciate it thank you DarioPcx@Hotmail.com

I'm Sebastian having issue with Epson L3060 printer that is dead after cleaning it's printhead (ph). I'm sorry for my english.

Pritner is burned after i cleaned ph with cleaning solution, connected it into printer and run "ph cleaning cycle" from PC. It was silently beeping before it passed thru :( Seems there is increase of voltage passing to ph while cleaning cycle is run as normal printing did not burn anything despite short circuit causing Epson printing all colors at once during head alignment.

It results that transistors C6144 and A2222 might need to be replaced with F1 (or F2) fuse on main board. I read that all 3 components needs to be replaced in order to prevent power transistors to burn again (2 transistors + ph data cable + ph itself).

I have another one ph for L3060 that I rarely used, so will try with it after resistors replacement.

It has happen to me just yesterday. Today I'm going to disassebly printer to get into main board and do some measurements with multimeter.

# After flushing the printhead with water / isopropyl

  1. also leaving ink cartridges with water / isopropyl in the printhead overnight, also with a paper towel under the printhead & above the cleaning station to absorb any water / isopropyl.
  2. The next day I powered up, red ink light on & green power button either continuous or flashing, uncertain
  3. Forgot the paper towel was under the printhead
  4. forgot to screw the printhead down to the tray with the 3 screws
  5. the printhead cartridge terminal block was also loose as I broke off the tabs that lock it down
  6. the yellow cartridge was off & slightly above the terminal block
  7. then after no response with the red ink light on / green power light
  8. I powered off & powered up again to a no power condition with the beeping noise.

Tech:

# reviews indicate problem hypothesis “Waste Ink Tank Counter” or “WIC Reset”. I concur reason the Water / Isopropyl I drilled in to some Ink Cartridges & left overnight could have somehow tripped the “Waste Ink Tank Counter”.

  1. I downloaded various “WIC Reset Utilities” & with the 1400 USB port plugged in & powered up beeping, none of the WIC Reset utilites would recognize a printer on the USB Port.
  2. I confirmed the 1400 USB Port is not tripping the Windows 7 Device Manager with any hardware changes. This indicates that the Logicboard is not sending any communications to the Windows7 USB Port.
  3. If the Logicboard will not power up the USB Port, then there is a Hardware failure / lockout.

Tech A.

# next to teardown 1400 & attempt to diagnose the fuse, Waste Ink Tank & Power Supply.

The head print does not work, it is burned. Change it. Also change the burnt transistors in the main board. That's works for me in the Epson 1410.

have you tried checking all the cartridges are pushed home also hold down the cancel button for 30 seconds then restart

Update

also the cartridge/tabs should be furthest away from you as you stand in front of the printer

It is the obsolescence scheduled of Epson. She destroys an element of the card - mother and your printer does not work anymore. I had the same problem with five machines. I changed the card - mother, but it is again destroyed after working a few minutes. The one who has the solution is blessed of all the victims of Epson.

I fix many board of epson l series, in order for them to work again, you need to replace the 2 transistors and also the power ic, or else it will continue to burn your transistors, the power ic is the one causing the problem to short the transistors. I hope it helps

where is the power IC located on the board? Can you tell me the replacement part numbers for the 2 transistors and power IC?

Thanks

I’m using EPSON L1800 and my story is no different from what has already been told on this forum. This morning it won’t print one of the colors, I did a head clean still won’t print the one color, so I removed the head and did a manual cleaning with a printhead cleaning solution, I put it back in the printer and it started to self clean again, oh, well I thought, I will let it do its thing, then all of a sudden, both the Paper light and the ink light started to blink simultaneously, both lights stayed on for a while so I thought, I restarted the printer, and now, the power light won’t turn on and there’s a beeping sound coming out of the printer.

Confirm sequence of E1400 "bricked". It's a gamble buying & shipping replacement parts from www.Alliexpress.com for E1400. My efforts at shipping replacement parts & reccovery were ultimatley lost and became a money pit. If you have a $1000+ budget I suggest find from Alliexpress, a "Chinese Open Hardware Breakout Epson DX5 Printer" with an inventory of replacement parts & customer service. A printer they designed with the DX5 with their firmware which was designed to be serviced & replaced, not “locked out”. https://www.aliexpress.com/store/804673

Well, apparently you just have to buy the motherboard and power board and hopefully, that should fix the problem. I’m personally investing in a much more high-end DTF machine, and certainly NOT a regular converted printer. I’m done with converted printers. Who knows if Epson is behind all of these, who knoooows!!!!

Thanks Dubs, but if you change the mother board and power board, the same thig will go : your printer will be out again when you switch it on.

I have an epson 1400 that did the same thing. working fine with exception of clogged print head, cleaned and still wouldnt print color then it just turned off and wont power back up. I hear the hissing sound. Are you saying if you replace the transitiors or Power IC that it will more than likely do it again. No hope in fixing this? I havent read anywhere that they were able to get their printer up and running again. Is it a waste of my time? thanks

I had a printhead clog on 1430, replaced it, then got the low tone beep and wouldn’t do anything. Replaced mainboard, turns on now but says it won’t recognize the cartridges. Been told on many forums now that I need to install new firmware since I replaced mainboard. Cannot find such a thing after days of searching. Any ideas.

Hello, someone has found which transistors need to be changed and what else to change to get the printer back on? There must be thousands of people involved, what pollution this planned obsolescence! Thank you to the one who will help us.

This is what I was told That means the motherboard and printhead are burnt out. The reason is that the liquid leaked into the printhead to burn the circuit and then burn the motherboard tube,

it is necessary to replace the printhead and repair the motherboard.

fix these transistors on mother board

Also install new print head at same time of repairing the transistors
