iPhone 5 has poor backlighting after digitizer replacement.

Replaced a customers screen, due to being shattered. After replacing the screen, the customer noticed that the lighting was not as bright as before. I've already done research, and found similar issues, but not the helpful. The screens I have come with the camera/proximity holder. So, that's out of the question. Just not sure what else can be the cause. Help Please?

A good start would be to transfer the original proximity sensor from the customer's device instead of assuming that failure of an aftermarket part is "out of the question" It would be first on my list.

Does the screen come to full brightness when you check the brightness setting and slide the slider all the way over? If not--try another screen. If so---try original proximity sensor.

Report back with the findings and we can help you go from there.

I've used the existing parts such as the proximity/camera and home button on the new digitizer. Is there a possibilty that the proximity/camera could be defective? I've tried another digitizer, but I purchased that one the same time I purchased this one.

anything can be defective---Rule out defective proximity sensor first. You need a second iPhone 5 in order to start with a known good housing and then start adding parts back to see which one was defective.
