Looking the iPad Air Front Panel Assembly Fix Kit (
iPad Air Front Panel Assembly) and saw that Adhesive Strips seem to be sold separately (iPad Air Adhesive Strips) and not included in the kit. Is there a reason for that? Are there other things required for this job that aren't included in the "kit"?

I'm going to go with the reason the adhesive strips aren't included is because there is pre-installed adhesive stickers on the back of the screen---these are the black sticker looking things in the picture.
If you do want to use your own adhesive, everybody loves "red tape" which will soon be sold in precut kits.

jessabethany is right, the adhesive is not only included, but pre-adhered to the new digitizer glass. When you're ready to install, just peel off the backing and install the glass.

When you remove the digitiser from an ipad (at least the ones I have done), the adhesive stays in place. And you can reuse it perfectly fine. So I would say they don't include it because it's most likely not required.

Whoa, that's a fast track toward a lifty screen. A really professional finish requires removing every speck of old adhesive, then cleaning the bare frame.
Total BS. I had to remove the screens to replace headphone jacks on about 20 ipad mini's. zero issues with lifting after many months... The original adhesive is still super tacky after screen removal and is perfectly fine to be used again.
However I agree with you when you say the screen replacement most likely comes with the adhesive pre installed.
most of the time screen replacement is due to cracked glass--there is no way to get 100% of the shards off the adhesive. In my experience we saw an order of magnitude difference in the quality of our repairs once we started taking the time to goo gone of the old adhesive and start completely fresh. We used to do pretty good and had no complaints, but now they are hard to distinguish from original in terms of how well the screen seals to the frame. Take it or leave it, just my two cents.
