I just successfully installed the MacBook Pro 13" battery I got from iFixit! After charging it two hours (without turning the power on), the charging light has turned green. But the instruction on the plastic cover that came with the battery from iFixit says I should charge it 10 hours before turning the power on.
Do I continue charging my laptop 8 more hours before I use it?

So you're the guy that does follow doctors orders when taking pills too! ;-}
The battery should be allowed to fully charge then trickle charge for 10 hours before using. This allows the SMC to learn your new battery.
If you don't you may not get the full discharge when using your system on battery only.
