This is the second Mac Mini and second cable I have tried with this, and I am stuck.
I bought a SATA connector for the Late 2014 Mac Mini to install a second SSD. Once installed, I can't format the SSD. I have removed the SSD and formatted it just fine externally, but every time I plug it into the Mac, it wants to take days to format.
Any ideas as to what is wrong?

Are you certain you are not barking up the wrong tree?
AFAIK the SSD slot is a proprietary blade connector.

I have the SSD Mac Mini and when doing this same procedure on another Mac Mini, it worked perfectly. I also swapped out the SSD today and still have the same issue. So to recap, I have replaced the Mac, SSD, and SATA connector all with the same result.
