Very dim screen after replacement

My screen was very dim after screen replacement, so i replaced the camera/light/proximity flex to see if the problem was there. But then i got this boot sequence: Apple logo - red screen - shutdown. I then disconnected the (new) camera flex, and it booted up as normal, but the screen still very dim. The auto-adjustment has no effect(even with the camera flex connected), and at full brightness it is something like 20% of normal.

The screen is most likely a 3rd-party screen, but i have tried two of them, and the chance of them both being bad is low.

Any help or suggestions very appreciated! :)

Has this phone seen water?

If not, then it sounds like you're not getting enough juice through the backlight circuit. Inspect the board near the LCD connector to see if you can find any missing components. Pull up the black sticker to get a closer look.

Edit: It sounds like your phone was fine prior to using a cheap screen. These screens often have an exposed backlight flex. Closing the phone can short the backlight to ground which will blow a backlight filter on the board. Repairable. Just need to have the filter replaced and you'll be back in business.

Thank you for the reply.

It is not exposed to water, so i guess the shorting the backlight to ground is likely cause in this case. I am not very experienced yet, so to replace this filter i think i need to "outsource" this; as i reckon we are talking soldering on logic board here, or is it an interchangable component, like the vibrator etc?

In your experience: is it worth the expense, or is buying a used logic board the better solution?

Edit:

i just tried the original screen, and this is also dim now, so it is definately not a screen issue

BTW:

since i live in Norway, i have tried to find a local repairshop for logic board component soldering, and Easyfiks seems to fit the bill. I await their answer in a short time, and will most likely get my repairs done there
