Are the Rumors True? (Second drive using older kit?)

I've seen a couple of forum posts here and there alluding to the fact that the iFixIt dual drive kit for the previous generation Mac Mini might actually work; simply plugged into where the Late 2014 Mac Mini would normally attach it's PCI-e based flash storage. Is there any truth to this? Has anyone actually DONE it? If so, that's mighty intriguing. For costs sake; I swapped out the factory drive on mine (before even booting it up, actually) with a Samsung 850 Pro. Rather than going with the more expensive factory-included flash storage. Rather than using the stock 1TB drive as an external; mounting it internally as a second drive would be pretty sweet!

Yes & No here

First this system has two drive ports one is your standard SATA drive connector for a 2.5" laptop drive. The second port is now a M.2 SSD Blade connector (unlike the previous model). So depending on what you bought you will have one or the other or in the case of the Fusion setup you'll have both cable harnesses & drives installed.

OK, so you bought a SSD model, then you can add a SATA drive using the dual drive kit.

OK, you bought the HD model, presently there is no M.2 kits being offered by 3rd parties. Apple does sell spare parts but so far I haven't seen the parts available.
