CF Card Error-shutter not Firing either

Hi

I have a Canon 5d Classic which I bought used. Today when I tried using it, first the CF Card would not go in. Then when it did, I tried shooting with it and the shutter would not fire.

Then a message popped saying CF Card error. I need help please

Try formatting the CF card. If that doesn't work, take the battery out, wait ten minutes, then try formatting the CF card again. I've had the same issue in the past. I have no idea why this works, but it does.

Check inside the CF slot of your camera to see if there's a bent pin. I recommend using a magnifying glass and a small flashlight. If one of the pins is touching another pin or touching the wall at the CF card slot inside the camera go in with a pair of tweezers or thin needle nose pliers straight in the pin back out. Don't adjust it too harshly or too many times because it might break off they are strong but can still be broken. This is work for me many times in the past when repairing a CF card slot but the most tried-and-true method as stated above is taking out the battery and restarting the camera.
