I tried replacing the battery clean the inside and the phone only work when plugged up. once plugged up, it will restart itself over and over at the apple screen. the phone will not update or restore, even in DFU mode. it bring up an error 21, which is a hardware error. Does anyone know exactly what to replace?

Uhms, I had a similar issue like that years ago while I had Applecare. The comment the 'genius' gave me was the logic board had a failure and they gave me a 'new' phone.
At that time they told me to:
1. Plug the phone to my mac.
2. Press and hold power + home until the phone shut down and rebooted.
3. On DFU to restore a backup or something.
But you have done this already. Have you taken it to the store?

no it is a used phone, so no warranty to fix it. besides i rather fix it myself anyway. i just have no clue what is wrong
