Computer is not starting up properly.
My computer is having problems starting up. When I hit the power button the computer stays on Mac OS X starting screen.

First try starting up in safe mode by holding down the "shift key" on start up. If that fails, try starting from your system installation disk by inserting the disk and holding down the "C" key. Go to the second screen pull down menu to Utilities -> disk utility and see if you can repair the hard drive. Please tell us which MacBook you are working on. On the back look for a number that looks like: "Axxxx"
