Why wont my phone charge

When i connect my charger it says battery critically low and i can get the phone on just wont charge tried few different chargers and hard reseting by hold the power button down for 15-20 seconds and it just kept vibrating with screen off but the most i got out of that was a little box on the screen that said ftm what do i need to do
