A1150 Display on A1211, compatible?

I need to replace my MBP 15" C2D A1211's display module and found a cheap one from an A1150 (the original MBPs). Anybody knows if I could install that on my A1211? I think all connectors are the same, except for 802.11n connectivity (the antennas are probably not the same, with the blue cable); would it work but airport could be unstable (or not work at all)? I appreciate any input! Thank you.

As you stated, the problem lies in the antennas (2 cables vs. 3). Beyond that, an A1150 display on a A1211 machine should work fine!

My thoughts exactly, the LVDS cable is the same and carries the same data. The mystery lies in the 802.11b/g/n functionality! Thanks for your input.

I've found you can just leave the middle blue wire disconnected and it works fine. It's a good idea to tape it down so it's not bouncing around. Theoretically it could short something out although it is not powered. Heat shrink tube comes in real handy to seal the end - other wise use Kapton tape - or both.

Presumably this is if you do the swap the other way round. 1150 display on a 1211 would leave an empty socket.

I have just tried this and found that the inverter cable connectors were different. The 1211 display had a black lift up connector (the same as the adjacent fan) but the donor display had a white push in one similar to the iSight (see this photo from the 1150 guide and this one from the 1211 guide.

I had to dismantle the top case and swap the actual LCDs. That worked, but takes quite a bit longer. see this guide.

I could probably have swapped the inverter cable, but that seemed even more tricky as you have to dismantle the hinge and the cable is quite fragile.

Doing the LCD swap also avoids the 3 into 2 antenna cables question, so is probably the best all round solution.
