Why won't my phone respond to commands?
My phone is lit and appears to be on but it won't respond when I touch the screen.

Before making any hardware changes, ensure that your phone screen is free of cracks or physical damage, dust and dirt, and that your fingers are not obstructed in any way. The previously mentioned factors can cause your screen to be unresponsive.
If you have ensured your screen is clean, free of damage, and your fingers are not obstructed, it's possible that your phone screen may simply be frozen. This means that everything still works properly but an internal error has caused the appearance of the screen to stay still. Try turning the phone off for approximately two seconds. If this does not resolve the problem then remove the battery, leave it out for 10 seconds, return the battery, and turn the device back on.
If none of these solutions work, the error may lie internally in the phone and parts may need to be replaced.
