There is a temperature sensor, relays, a fuse, and a plug that could all be culprits if your fan is not coming on. Make sure that it is getting voltage, but not turning on, or is turning on but making noise/not spinning fast before replacing it.

The fan on my 2002 Chevy Cavalier was coming on and off.Looked under the hood one day and a hose was rubbing against it.Re-adjusted the hose and things were fine.
