Computer recognizes ipad but blank lcd

I recently started to replace my neighbors Ipad air screen. I purchased an lcd + front touchscreen combo pack on eBay from flashtech llc and when I only plug in the lcd nothing comes on the screen. I have the touch screen and home button disconnected but the ipad is recognized when I plug it in to my computer and I hear the correct noise when it is plugged into the charger. I have tried cleaning the connectors in 91% isopropyl alcohol to no avail.
