locked out of iPod
had Ipod stolen and then recovered. They disabled the device. I need to be able to open my ipod.

you may try hold home button and power button for like 3 or 5 sec. Then release the power button but still holding the home button and connect your device with Lightning to USB cable open your iTunes. Then chose recover, and see what's going on.
