iPhone 3G Screen isn't showing up on iPhone.

As of right now, I am using two iPhone 3G's, but both screen won't work at all. I've noticed that the problem isn't the actual screen, I think it's the logic board (I think that's what it's called?) where the camera, SIM tray, etc. where all the connectors (1-6) connect.

It all started with my first iPhone 3G, which is a white one. I took it apart because I was replacing the back cover (for obvious reasons, it's badly scratched) and as I put everything back, EVERYTHING will work except the screen. If I plug it into the computer, I will hear the beep thing, so I know it's on. And I switched the vibrate button up and down, so it vibrates. So I know it's on for sure.

I got upset because I didn't know what the problem was, and I kept searching everywhere. So I took apart my other iPhone 3G (black) up to the logic board. Which means I basically only took the screen off. I connected the black iPhone 3G screen to the white iPhone 3G but it didn't work as well. So I did vise versa (white iPhone 3G screen onto black iPhone) and it worked.

In my mind, I thought, it couldn't be the screen then, so I took out the logic board of the black iPhone and switched it with the white iPhone. Now both doesn't work.

I really don't get what I did wrong, and I am so upset and confused. BOTH the black iPhone and white iPhone screens won't "show up".

PLEASE HELP. ANY suggestions are appreciated.

(The black iPhone is my brother's, so if I don't fix it, my brother won't have a phone either.) :/

did you slide to switch off the phones before swapping the lcd's? you may have inadvertently toasted them otherwise, in which case you'll need 2 new lcds! is there any image at all on the screens? if it is still showing a faint sign of home screen or symbols then you may have blown the back light which is on the motherboard and expensive/difficult to repair.

you could try another/friends phone......but be sure to power off properly to make sure you don't blow their screen!

Update

try putting the working screen in the other phone then you'll know if it's a dead lcd or backlight on the motherboard.

I fixed the black iPhone by rearranging some connections somehow so there's display on the black iPhone. I tried doing the same thing on the white iPhone but didn't work.

Oh dang, I made that stupid mistake, I never turned off the iPhones before I swapped the LCD's. I didn't think that would be use. Ugh.

The white one used to have faint signs of the home screen or symbols but then all of a sudden, it just stopped displaying.

I just tried restoring the white iPhone, but it didn't work. Still no display. ):

I think it's the backlight on the motherboard... Any way I can fix that?

from everything i've read a fix is expensive or only for the brave with fab soldering skills. marcus has put a link on one of his answers about this. search the answers for dark screen backlight.

I searched and I can't find the link?

Try to DFU mode and restore the phone. That might help. I heard about some cases where this was necessary.

If not let us know if you fixed it and how.

The LCD is not plug-and-play compatible. Your need to restart the phone after connecting the LCD. Hold HOME+POWER Button till it restarts.
