1 phone is on but screen is black
My dog knocked my phone out of my truck and when the phone hit the pavement it cracked the front screen. The phone is still on but the screen is black. I can hear when someone texts me but I cant make the screen come on. I have tried restarting it by hitting the power button, power +volume+ home buttons, and power+volume button and the only sign of life on the screen is the little light in the top left corner indicating I have texts, emails, etc. Am I going to have to replace the entire screen?
I'm thinking its an LCD issue after some research. Can I replace the LCD and just deal with the cracked glass or do I have to change both?

I have the same issue it was a very soft fall however the cellphone is on but completely black.

You may want to check the displays connection on the motherboard. You may have a loose connection due to the drop. Try reseating the displays connection to the motherboard. If the connection is properly seated then odds are your current display is damaged and will need replaced. The guides on this site can help you through this process.

I had the same issue, i even had a spare digitizer from old phone and that still hasnt worked. I did all the restart power up and down, hold home button etc, and my phone doesnt even go into recovery mode (no screen vision in any mode), what could be the possible cause if its not the digitizer or in a deep sleep? Could it be a mother board connection? Phone does power on and all the buttons light up etc, volume can be heard so i will try to clean the connections again inside.

Hello. I don't know if anyone could help me with this question but it would be appreciated if someone could. The glass of my daughters samsung S6 was cracked but still working. She put it in a shop and they said the digitiser was also cracked but held together by the glass and it was only upon them removing the glass that this support held it together and now there is no display whatsoever. Could this be the case that it was only functioning still because the cracked glass was holding it together or has the shop damaged it further. Thanks.
