Glass separating from the bezel/frame

Hi all

Some advice. Fitted several customers with a new i6 LCD assembly only for them to contact me shortly after saying the top corner of the glass has lifted due to what looks like a lack of adhesive.

The LCDs are OEM and not originals. Best solution for sticking these back down or adopting them when I get them from my supplier.

Or even still anyone recommend a good supplier where these issues simply do not exist?!

Eddogo.com is one supplier I really like. I've bought many spare parts from them for about a year now.

Avoid getting refurbish / cheap / low quality screens. They tend to have this issue.

You may want to try using different adhesive. I use 3M adhesive strips and have not had any issues with my repairs so far.

i would ditch the supplier and pay extra for better quality screens . Thats bad for your business. ok, the problem with instant superglue is that while it cures instantly ,the bond fails within a few days or so with temperature changes etc.

What you can use is a glue called E8000 which i use when customers have experienced the same problem. However allow 24hrs for a full bond. Also i would use small plastic market clamps to hold in place until bonded

@Smartfone NI Good advice, I've done this a lot for Customers that bring their iPhones with low quality screens repaired at another store that charge cheaper. They actually end up paying more because they have to end up getting the screen glue.

I just use scotch tape (A.K.A transparent sticky tape) for the curing time. Always has worked for me.

Hey,

This issue is common with poor suppliers. They use the wrong adhesive, which means any bend in the handsets body will cause the screen to lift and separate.

Frustrating I know and it probably wouldn't do your reputation much good if they are having to come back feeling they have an inferior part!

If you need to adhese the frame I would suggest using a flexible glue like guerilla glue. I wouldn't advise using regular super glue as it can leave a nasty (usually smelly) residue.

I would change your supplier as yours clearly have not gotten with the times. This screen separating issue is pretty old now and most suppliers have fixed this.
