Why is my external speaker no longer working after housing replacement

I had to replace my iPhone 6 housing, so I decided to use a custom housing. I successfully to replaced it but today the speaker you would use to play music stopped working. Could there be an issue with he fled cable eventhough all of the other components on the cable still work or could it be the speaker itself.

Definitely check the connector first - be very careful with it because contacts are very fragile.

Hard reset ( Home and Power button together) could help as well in case that one of the applications still "hold" that service

On the flex cable there is one small tear that is less than a millimeter but could that be the issue

tarafından

Yep that is exactly the cause.

The small tear starting from the right side of the ribbon flex cable to the dock connector.

That is one or two or the circuit lines in the ribbon cable that provide the connection to the bottom loudspeaker / ringer / speaker.

You probably need to be more careful when prying the dock connectors.

I pull a bit but not where it looks like it will tear I use a prying tool to pry opposite of the easy to tear spots I usually do them last if you know what I mean.

Its kind of a bit hard to explain.

Sometimes custom housings have plastics covering the speaker holes which you can see at the bottom on the right of the charging port just grab a needle and poke one see if you get sound.
