Part Specification confusion (Carrier)

I've notice when looking for a replacement part, often its categorized with the carrier (AT&T, Verizon, etc) unfortunately in CANADA we generally have different main carriers. Bell, Rogers, Koodo, Fido, and others.

How do we determine which part/carrier to order?

the difference is in the model number, in the case of a galaxy note there are several different models SGH-T889, SGH-I317, SPH-L900, SCH-i605. If you want to to know which phone you have go into the settings "about device" and your model number will be there then when looking for parts include your model number and you'll have better luck finding the proper part. Hope this helps

Does this also theoretically work for figuring out what 'model' will work with what carrier up here or no? I've had family in the USA offer family in Canada a phone cheap/free but it needed a repair. The concern was always 'Verizon' or ' AT&T' isnt in Canada so what part, what carrier, etc.

If your repairing your phone all that matters is the model not the carrier. The reason they deal with carriers is that certain models are specific to certain carriers. You will have to unlock the phone from the carrier after you fix it. there are all kinds of sites that unlock your phone for a small fee. I myself use a phone that was on at&t and am now using speakout here in Canada. Just used a phone unlock service and was off to the races.
